Car and Driver states “Performance luxury SUVs like the 2023 Audi SQ5 and SQ5 Sportback provide an easy way to celebrate your car enthusiast roots when your lifestyle evolves to include the traditional trappings of adulthood. Essentially a hot-rodded version of the regular Q5 SUV, the SQ5 wears a snazzier wardrobe and packs a turbocharged V-6 engine under hood that makes a stout 354 horsepower.” We couldn’t agree more with that statement and our client did as well. With so much power, SunTek PPF is a priority.

The client purchased this amazing SUV and immediately chose to have Paint Protection Film installed on the front end for excellent protection from everyday road hazards. Additionally we installed SunTek Evolve Series window tint on the front door windows. The PPF package chosen for this vehicle was what we call our Front End Plus Package. Ultimately PPF is completely customizable to your needs, however this is our top tier front end package for ultimate protection while not going all out and installing film to the entire vehicle. Did we mention, we can do that for you as well if you wish, so if you’re looking for PPF, no matter the amount, we can handle it for you.

Front End Plus – SunTek PPF Package Includes:

  • Full Front Bumper.
  • Full Fenders.
  • Full Hood.
  • Mirror Caps.
  • Headlight.
  • A-Pillars To Top Of Windshield.

Additional goodies! As mentioned above, we can customize any PPF package to your needs or desires! Additionally we also covered the piano black trim around the grille and fog-lights. Piano black trim looks amazing but it gets scratched and nicked very fast so protecting it while it’s new is always a wise choice! The front doors were tinted with SunTek Evolve Series tint in a NC legal 35% shade to provide 57% TSER, 99% UV and 93% IR rejection!

Options and Wrapped Edges

On this particular project we opted to use SunTek Altered Black PPF for the mirrors. This provides an unmatched amount of gloss as well as virtually invisible installation. Black PPF is an amazing option for smaller areas of a project such as piano black mirrors. Wrapped edges were provided on the hood, upper and rear portion of the fenders, a-pillars, fender flares and bumper where possible. Wrapped edges vs. non-wrapped edges are a hot topic in PPF discussions. Ultimately which edges to wrap or not to wrap should be left to the discretion of your installer. The last thing anyone wants is to have an amazing installation but end up with failed edges later. Not all edges can be nor should be wrapped from a longevity standpoint. If this is a concern of yours, we invite you to schedule an in-person consultation with us to discuss.

PPF Perfection?

Perfection. Can you receive it with any PPF installation? The short and sweet answer is unfortunately, no. Perfection simply doesn’t exist in any film installation from any installer or shop. Due to variables out of an installers hands, a few minor pieces of debris or other installation flaws should be expected when heading into any PPF install. However, having a qualified installer, whom knows the film they’re working with will make all the difference. Our attention to detail is par-none, however we prefer being realist and this is discussed with all of our clients. If you’ve viewed our recent projects page you can also see that we are not afraid to take up close photos and hide nothing. We aren’t perfect, film and vehicles aren’t 100% perfect. Nonetheless we are overly detail oriented which in turn provides you with the absolute best film installation possible.

Our Tried And True SunTek PPF Prep Process:

  • 2 bucket wash system with grit guards.
  • Chemical iron decontamination.
  • Mechanical clay bar process.
  • Panel prep alcohol solution on all panels and edges.
  • All nooks and crannies blown out with high pressure air to remove hidden debris.
